Hot Water Boilers
Steam Boilers
Hot water boilers are designed to heat water to a specific temperature and distribute it throughout a building (like your home), for either space heating or to provide the building with hot water. These systems operate on a closed-loop system with circulation driven by a pump, which ensures a steady flow of hot water which is kept at a consistent temperature. Hot water boilers operate at lower pressures than steam boilers, and are an efficient way to heat residential homes.
Unlike Hot Water Boilers, Steam Boilers generate steam by boiling water, which is then distributed through pipes to devices that require heat such as radiators and heat exchangers. The steam is used for various things, including power generation and heating. These systems operate at higher temperatures and pressures, in an open loop system, and can be used for a wider variety of applications.
